Entering Retirement

At Dobermans of Eastern NC, we believe every dog deserves a life of purpose, love, and individual attention. Our males and females are thoughtfully retired from breeding once they have responsibly fulfilled their role within our program. We intentionally limit breedings to protect long-term health, preserve genetic integrity, and honor the well-being of each dog entrusted to us.

Retirement allows these dogs to transition from our program into a life where they can enjoy a quieter season—as cherished family companions. This decision reflects our commitment to ethical breeding, lifelong responsibility, and stewarding each dog with care, intention, and gratitude. Some of our retired dogs may be up for adoption, any interested client will need to contact me directly for more information.

Apollo (Canelo) Bello

Apollo is a 6-year-old Doberman, born in 2020, who has completed his role in our breeding program.

He comes from a beautiful bloodline and was responsibly retired as part of our ongoing commitment to ethical breeding and genetic planning.

 

Apollo’s early life was not an easy one. He experienced significant neglect prior to coming into our care, which has shaped both his sensitivities and his deep appreciation for human connection. Because of this, Apollo is an exceptionally affectionate, people-oriented dog who thrives when he is included as a true family companion.

Bella Bones🤍

Bella is a beautiful black & rust Doberman who has officially retired from our breeding program and is now ready to find the loving forever home she deserves.

Born April 3, 2022, Bella is an incredibly sweet, affectionate girl with a wonderful temperament. She enjoys being outdoors, going for walks, soaking up the sunshine, and—most of all—being close to her people and canine companions. She is crate trained, has a moderate energy level, and is happiest when she has another dog to spend her time with.

Bella has always done very well with other dogs and is not reactive toward cats or other small animals. She is very social and tends to prefer playing and interacting with other dogs over toys. Whether she is stretched out on the couch, curled up on the bed, or finding the coolest spot on the floor, Bella is simply a loving, easy-to-adore companion.

One particularly important part of Bella’s story is her bond with Apollo. ❤️

Bella and Apollo have a very strong connection and have spent a significant part of their lives together. Apollo is also retired and looking for his forever home, and because of the relationship these two share, our preference would be to find the right home willing and able to welcome them both.

We understand that taking on two Dobermans is a significant commitment, so finding them a home together is not an absolute requirement. Above all, our priority is finding the right home for each of them. However, if the perfect family came along who could give Bella and Apollo a wonderful life together, that would certainly be our first choice.

Bella has given us so much during her time with Dobermans of Eastern NC, and retirement is about giving her the opportunity to simply be someone’s beloved companion. We are looking for a home that will cherish her, include her as part of the family, and give her the love and companionship she deserves for the rest of her life.
